As many of you know, I am very interested in PTSD after childbirth and actively work with individuals who have experienced or witnessed traumatic births, and also am a founder of PATTCh (Prevention and Treatment of Traumatic Childbirth). Please visit our website, www.pattch.org (note the two ‘T’s in our name).

My friend, Jameelah Carver, is actively involved in the Art of Living Happiness Program, which teaches effective methods of breathing and meditation that can be used by anyone.  A recent research study from Stanford found these techniques to be particularly helpful for those suffering from PTSD. I’m pleased to learn about this – safe, successful treatments for PTSD are desperately needed! To learn more about the research on this technique, called Sudarshan Kriya, click here, or watch the short video below.  Training courses are widely available.  For those of you who live in Western Washington, there will be a course offered on October 3-7.
